Day 27 - Prayer Opportunities

Considering that these 40 days are focused on prayer, we thought we’d let you know about some ways that YOU can get involved with praying specifically for Bible Translation around the world.

Wycliffe recognizes that without prayer, Vision 2025 will never be reached. After all, prayer isn’t just PREPARATION for the greater work, it IS the greater work! So they have people around the world that are focused mainly on organizing prayer requests and international prayer ministries so that all of US can know what needs prayer.

Simple concept, huh?

Some people pray every once in a while for the missionaries around the world, or the persecuted church in general, or for the health and safety of Christian workers throughout the nations, but did you know that there are lots of EASY ways to connect to SPECIFIC requests to bring before the Lord?

Hopefully you’ll find some or all of these things to be helpful to you. We really appreciate your prayers for our family as we hope to start our assignment in Orlando SOON, but if you want to have more info about how to pray for other missionaries in the world, keep reading.

For example, Sarah and I receive an email just about every day from Wycliffe that highlights different needs from within our organization or our partner organizations. We found out through this that a friend of ours serving in Africa had a major prayer request for his son to be healed due to terrible burns on his body. We began lifting this little boy up immediately. We found out about a translation worker somewhere in the world whose husband was killed in a house fire while she was working on a Bible translation and began praying.

You can receive email updates like these if you click here.

Another really exciting way that you can get involved is to pray for a specific Bibleless People group. Called the Bibleless Peoples Prayer Project (BPPP for short), people all around the world have been praying for a group somewhere in the world that needs the Bible translated into their language. There are all kinds of stories about how people have been impacted by tracking the development of translation projects and progress in these groups throughout the years. Sign up! It’s really neat!

Here is where you go for that.

Want to be one of these gumballs? When you sign up to pray for a Bibleless People group, a gumball with YOUR name on it (okay, so your name isn’t really on it) will be added to the tank. Over 7,000 gumballs are in it so far...want to be connected with people across the world that need God’s Word in their heart language? Sign up today!

Seriously. If you have had these questions about what to pray for, click here. You can pray for the twenty areas of greatest need, pray for specific missionaries, pray for the groups left to begin translations in, and lots more. I didn't even realize all of the opportunities until today. Actually, I don't think I've scratched the surface.

Okay, have I told you to sign up enough?

Again, if you’d like to pray with our family on a certain day between now and August 6th, fill out the form on the right of the screen or shoot me an email at trevor_schuh@wycliffe.org. We’d love to pray with you and for you!

Trevor
