It's been a little while since we've updated you on what's going on with Wycliffe. So here's a perfect opportunity to tell you what is happening at this exact moment in the life of our work in Bible Translation.
Every three years, InterVarsity puts on a massive missions conference for students between Christmas and New Years. When I say massive, I mean 17,000 students gathering in the Edward Jones Dome and the America's Center in St. Louis to worship together, learn about how critical global issues affect missions, and have opportunities to engage with the largest gathering of missions agency reps in North America.
That's where Wycliffe comes in. Right now there are several of our colleagues attending Urbana as representatives of Wycliffe in the worldwide Bible Translation movement. There's a giant booth with tons of info, displays, and ministry opportunities...we've got our first ever iPhone app (it's free!) to help in the recruiting process. I know this is a conference for students, but there was a whole lot of anticipation from all of my friends who (I shouldn't reveal this) are well beyond their student days.
Here's the link for Wycliffe@URBANA's Facebook page if you want to see some current pictures or have more info.
Thanks for reading!
Trevor
