Whew!
So we made it back home all in one piece...I know many of you had been praying and wondering (THANK YOU, by the way). Considering how the first part of our travel day was going yesterday I was afraid we might be throwing up on the plane and then getting thrown OFF the plane mid-flight in light of our little family of four ALL being infected with some awful stomach flu we had picked up over the weekend. We tried to see if we could postpone our flight, but no, the nice lady on the phone said we would simply forfeit our flight if we chose not to ride on it. So, we washed our hands of the responsibility of bringing our germs onto the plane. What can we say? ...we tried. Don't worry, we smiled big and laughed a lot, never giving anyone reason to think we had just been throwing up all through the night.
My two "sadnesses"--if I may call them that--from the whole week are that:
1) I didn't take a single picture on my camera, and
2) We were so close to so many dear friends that we didn't get to see because of time constraints/sickness/schedule.
We did, however, have a great time helping out with our church's Christmas program AND celebrating my dad's birthday. Trevor did a crash course on Tuesday and Wednesday to learn his keyboard part for 20 pieces of music (no, I'm not exaggerating), and I did my best to memorize words and notes to the 15 songs that I would be singing in. I will admit, I MAY have faked knowing the lines/parts to SOME of the songs;) My parents helped us out INCREDIBLY by being willing to watch the girls as we did this. I was blessed to meet and get to know a wonderful new friend through the whole process. THANK YOU to those who made it possible for us to do this (you know who you are). We were blessed beyond measure. Truly.
Looking forward to the week ahead. Brother and his wife will be flying in from South Korea, soon to be followed by my parents. Trevor is back in the office, starting tomorrow, getting back into the swing of things.
While I didn't get any pictures, I DID get one single video, which I will post for your enjoyment...probably tomorrow.Til then...
Sarah
