Today is a very cool day.
Today marks the first of many days that Trevor will have the opportunity to serve in the Offices of the President at Wycliffe Bible Translators. What an immense privilege it is to be able to serve in this capacity. I'm excited for him, proud of him, and praying that I'll be a good support to him.
Today marks the first of many days where I will be home for the majority of the day investing in two young lives for the purpose of the gospel. At least this is what I pray my motivation for parenting will be. The day in and day out tries to distract me from that, but what an immense privilege it is to open up someone's life to the God who lives. While being home with kids is a normal thing and something that most moms are well used to, it's a bit of a shift for this mom. I've had the opportunity to have my husband right next to me for the last year. I'll be serving with Wycliffe, too, but most of my responsibilities will most likely be done from home.
Today, one of our dear partners is flying on a plane to the Philippines to take part in the celebration/dedication ceremony of the newly translated Kinaray-a New Testament. How incredibly cool is it that today, of all days, she gets to go and see the product (well, the REAL product is transformed lives...but this is the tangible product) of what we work towards when taking part in Bible Translation. Definitely a GREAT reminder for us to start with the end in mind. God is so good.
Today starts the last round of Trevor's Grandma's chemo. Thank you, Lord, for the ways You've created our minds to work so that new cures and new medicine can be discovered in order to prolong life! We pray that God would work mightily in her body to remove every last bit of the cancer that tries to take over.
I'm guessing you have some things to thank God for today. Don't wait!
Sarah

So disappointed to not be there on Trevor's first day...and to miss the party! There will be more days.
